Demi Lovato has been dragged on social media after sharing her thoughts on the news of DMX's drug overdose.

The Dancing With The Devil hitmaker shared that DMX's condition is giving her "survivor's guilt". The stunner had also nearly died in 2018 from drugs.

The legendary US rapper has been on life support in hospital since last week. He reportedly suffered a heart attack after overdosing on drugs.

Page Six reports that Demi spoke to TMZ Live on Wednesday. According to the publication, Demi said:

"There’s times I’ve felt, like, feeling survivor’s guilt. You do ask yourself, ‘Why am I still here, why are others not?’ It’s challenging. I have to realise that every day is a day that someone else doesn’t get."

She added that having survived a drug overdose made her want to live the best life she can possibly have "knowing others didn’t get the chance".

Some tweeps defended Demi from tweeps who dragged her. They claimed she was asked to comment on DMX's situation.

"Since absolutely none of you read... Demi was asked about what she thought about the situation. She didn't just bring it up and make the comparison on her own. IDK why the hell they're even asking this girl about it, but okay."

In related news, Briefly.co.za reported that The 50-year-old hip-hop icon is fighting for his life and things are not looking good. According to the BBC, he has been taken off life support and is breathing on his own.

However, doctors are concerned as there is very little sign of brain activity. DMX has had a history of substance abuse and it is not known if the heart attack was triggered by an overdose.

The popular rapper has worked with major artists such as Jay-Z, Ja Rule, Eve, LL Cool J. He has even made a couple of appearances in films. Fans and celebrities took to social media in reaction to the news of his overdose.
