MacG and his podcast will be making history this month when they host Zola 7 for an interview at Ster Kinekor.
Podcast and Chill session with Mzansi will air at 3 Ster Kinekor cinemas across the country on the 29th of April, Durban Gateway, Cape Town Tygervalley and Joburg Sandton cinemas.
Speaking about the opportunity, MacG said that he was excited about the project.
“He’s celebrating 20 years in the industry this year and it’s also his 44th birthday just before the screening, so it feels like exactly the right time to do something completely out of the box.”
The podcast itself is one of the biggest in the country with thousands of subscribers and high profile guests.
The MacG Zola 7 Podcast and Chill session is about an hour long and delves into Zola’s childhood and subsequently his career, including the ups and downs of his time with Ghetto Ruff.
The event is already getting hyped up on social media. There will be only a limited number of seats available for the podcast.
Meanwhile Briefly News previously reported that Zola 7 trended on social media recently after he shared a rare pic of himself chilling outside his home. The musician's fans flooded his comment section to praise him for his contribution in the Mzansi entertainment industry.
Zola changed the lives of many people in the country with his uplifting songs and through his show titled Zola 7. The show aired from 2002 to 2010 on SABC 1. Each episode focused on a young person who with support from Zola realised his or her dream.
He also recently hosted a Moja Love show called Hope with Zola. It focused on the alleviation of social problems like youth unemployment and the housing shortage.
Zola became popular in Mzansi after he bagged the role of Papa Action on Yizo Yizo some years back. He then released a lot of banging tunes which saw him become an instant celeb in Mzansi.
The star recently collaborated with Cassper Nyovest on two songs. The tracks Hlengiwe and Bonginkosi can be found on Mufasa's new album titled Any Minute Now.
