The company CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, announced the release of the new version of Meta AI, which allows users to ask questions.

Zuckerberg revealed this in a video posted on his Facebook account on Thursday, 18 April 2024.

"We're releasing the new version of Meta AI, our assistant that you can ask any question across our apps and glasses. Our goal is to build the world's leading AI and make it available to everyone," said Zuckerberg as quoted in the post.

Zuckerberg noted that the new AI feature has been integrated with real-time knowledge from Google and Bing to provide users with answers.

The new feature can be traced in the search boxes at the top of WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Messenger.

"Anytime you have a question, you just ask it right there. We also built a website, meta.ai, for you to use on web," he said.

The CEO explained that the company is upgrading Meta AI with a new state-of-the-art Llama 3 AI model, "which we're open-sourcing."

He said that the new model will make Meta AI the most intelligent AI assistant for subscribers.

The new AI version has some unique creation features, like the ability to animate photos.

The images generated by Meta AI are of high quality, created and updated in real-time as the user types.

It will also generate a playback video as the user generates it in the process.

"We are investing massively to build the leading AI and open sourcing our models responsibly is an important part of our approach."
"Beyond improving Meta products, these models have the potential to help unlock progress in fields like science, health care and more. We have got more releases coming soon," Zuckerberg added.
