"As we approach what would have been your birthday, we find ourselves consumed by both memory and emotion. This letter is not just an expression of our love and longing, but a public celebration of the woman you were — an icon, mother, best friend, business manager, protector, and the soul of the family," she wrote.
Khumalo further shared how she has been navigating her life since her mom passed away.
She said:
"Since your passing, we’ve had to move through life with a strength we've inherited from you. Our journey has been marked by challenges and victories — times when we yearned to call you for your advice and encouragement.
"As your daughter, I've embraced my artistry — balancing grief, personal growth, and industry expectations. Professionally, I’m working harder than ever: writing, performing, and honouring your legacy — not just for myself but in your memory. We miss you, Ma. We love you deeply, and we promise to make you proud every day."
