Veteran actress Linda Sokhulu recently revealed in an interview that having children was not a pressing matter for her.

The former Generations star, who played Cleo Khuzwayo between 2004 and 2007 and later Tumi Selepe on 7de Laan in 2022, spoke on The Relebogile Mabotja Podcast that being a mother was not in her plans:

"Unlike people who are parents and waited for it to happen their whole lives, it was never something that was that pressing.

Moreover, during her interview on 8 August 2025, when asked if she would ever want to be a mother, the 48-year-old actress said if it happens, then so be it:

"If I'm to be, then I shall be. It's not a thing that I feel that if it doesn't happen in my life, there would be a void. How can you have a void for something you don't know?"

According to Briefly News, the South African birth rate has steadily declined in recent years, with the birth rate for 2025 being 18.5, a 1.32% decline from 2024.

Meanwhile, Stats SA reports a decline in the total fertility rate, with women expected to have an average of 2.21 children in their lifetime.
