The Late Flabba Recorded 20 Songs Before Untimely Death, Producer Reveals Details

• A producer who worked closely with Flabba has revealed that the rapper has an album's worth of unreleased songs
• Flabba was a member of the famous hip-hop group Skwatta Kamp, whose life was cut short after a fatal stabbing
• His girlfriend, Sindisiwe Manqele, fatally stabbed the rapper in 2015; however was subsequently convicted of murder and then later released on parole

South African rapper Flabba was said to have recorded more than 20 songs, which he intended to release as an album. However, his life was cut short by his girlfriend, who fatally stabbed him.

In 2015, the former Skwatta Camp star's girlfriend, Sindisiwe Manqele, stabbed the rapper during an argument.

According to Sunday World, his brother, Thabang Habedi, has come out to declare that the rapper had a body of work that was in its final stages of getting released.

“I spent a lot of time with Flabba, working on the music,” he said in his affidavit. However, it seems as though there are unresolved issues with Flabba's estate and uncleared samples.

“I don’t like conflict. I don’t want to release the music if it will lead to issues regarding royalties and disputes over music rights," he stated.

Habedi is waiting for the right time to release the music; however, when it does, he noted who should receive the royalties. "I believe if anything is to be released, it needs to go to his child, Lesego, and the people who raised him and loved him unconditionally.”

Habedi assured his supporters that the music would be released because he wants Mzansi to hear what the rapper was working on.

Flabba's death revisited in Showmax series

The rapper's life and death were covered in a true-crime documentary series by Showmax titled Imibuzo. His brother, Habedi, disputed abuse allegations made by his killer.

“I’ve never seen him being violent towards her in their relationship. That I didn’t see… Sindisiwe also shocked me with that one.”

During her trial, Manqele claimed that she was acting in self-defence, alleging that the rapper was physically abusive towards her. However, News24 reported that Manqele admitted to stabbing the rapper during a drunken dispute.

"Yes, I wanted to stab him, but I did not foresee where it [the knife] would land. "I wanted to hurt him so that he would move from me and I could get out."

Sindisiwe was then convicted of murder and later released on parole after serving just six years of her 12-year sentence. Her release had many people questioning the justice system in Mzansi.
