Rachel Kolisi's nail appointment at BOA Beauty Bar turned into a heartfelt mission. The former rugby WAG spotlighted her nail tech Letwin's heartbreaking story.
In a post on Instagram, Rachel shared that she met a woman named Letwin and noticed that her nails were very short. The nail tech explained that she kept them that way to avoid biting them due to stress. Letwin is a mother of three, and her youngest, who is five years old, suffers from liver failure. The little girl has not been able to get onto a transplant list despite her mother's crowdfunding efforts. They needed to use the little they raised (R20 000) for blood transfusions when travelling. The mother of three has always tenderly cared for her 5-year-old, who sleeps on her lap upright, leaning on her chest, since she was 6 weeks old.
Rachel wrote that the story touched her, and she wished she could wave a magical wand to help the mother in need. She wrote:

"I wish I could just fix everything for her and offer solutions. What I took from our short conversation is a massive amount of perspective, a reminder of a big divide that still exists, and that there is SO MUCH to be grateful for."
The doting mother of three said she now prioritises making beautiful memories with her daughter first. They visited Table Mountain and the aquarium in Cape Town, and she dreamt of taking a child on a helicopter ride. Rachel later revealed that someone helped her make Letwin's dream come true. She wrote:
"So grateful to you all, THANK YOU! We definitely have a helicopter ride secured for this beautiful family! ❤️🙏🏼"
