Netizens react to the pictures of the celebrities
Shortly after the before-and-after pictures were posted on social media, many netizens flooded the comment section with their reactions. Here's what they had to say below:
@pki42 said:
"All this is the work of money and nothing else; whoever has money can become whatever they want to be."
@Ramaesela2011 responded:
"Most of these women have always been beautiful. Picture quality has improved over the years. They were never ugly."
@siphekalipa93 replied:
"I needed this laugh, shem. Your commentary killed it! But FR, I am glad they did what they wanted with their money because if they remained the same, we would roast them for looking dirty but having money! Love it for them, Sana."
@Duduzane20 wrote:
"Most of these people were still beautiful even back then. This commentary is rooted in colourism and classism because they became lighter and started affording “top” makeup, fashion, skincare etc."
@Sparkleberrie commented:
"Three people here look otherwise 😅. But everyone else looks normal, the make-up & style went with the times. These days we have great make-up, quality pics & skin care products that probably lighten us too by default."
@Chantel16536574 mentioned:
"Skin bleaching is a real problem in Africa, hey."
@dj_exeption shared:
"But why do black people hate being black? Why the obsession with bleaching? We are cooked if we think we have to be white to be beautiful."
