Sunday World reported in August 2025 that Dlamini is demanding R2.5 million from MacG Mukwevho and Sol Phenduka.

Dlamini is reportedly dragging the podcasters to the Equality Court for hate speech, unfair discrimination, and harassment based on sex or gender.

Kaya FM confirmed in a statement on Monday, 1 September 2025, that Phenduka was fired because of his comments about Dlamini on the Podcast and Chill.

"Kaya 959 cannot and will not condone comments made on the MacG podcast, where Sol Phenduka is an integral part of the presenting team.
"Misogynistic remarks made about actress Minnie Dlamini were unacceptable and inconsistent with respect owed to women," adds the radio station.

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela confirmed on his X account on Monday, 1 September 2025, that Phenduka has been fired from Kaya FM.

@Joy_Zelda said:

"MacG will stop demeaning women. Thank you, Minnie Dlamini."

"@KayaON959, this is unfair to say the least! What did Sol do? He can't control what comes out of Mac G's mouth. Yo, ke a mo tshaba (I am scared of) Minnie Dlamini."

@Masta_Lavesta commented:

"Guys, is there a way to let @KayaOnAir management know that some of us are not happy with the dismissal of @Solphendukaa? This is grandstanding of the highest order. Phenduka did not say anything about Minnie Dlamini. He can't be found guilty by association #Justiceforsol."

@Gorthan_Sir wrote:

"Minnie Dlamini sorting out male arrogance in real time is so sweet. You could have just apologised, now a mess is following your friend."

@ActionKillerman responded:

"Minnie Dlamini does not deserve to be spoken so badly about on such a platform, by the people she never bothered. Sol Phenuka deserves what he got, and MacG must pay too."

Psychological effects of losing a job

Psychologist Paula Quinsee spoke to Briefly News journalist Tayananiswa Zvikaramba and shared how losing a job can affect an individual.

"Experiencing a job loss can be traumatic for anyone as it taps right into our survival skill of being able to provide for ourselves and our loved ones and uncertainty of what the future may hold," she explained.

She shared how best one can handle the situation and seeing it as an opportunity rather than negatively.

"Being retrenched or starting over can provide an opportunity for a reset and fresh start in our career starting with reframing our situation by shifting our language from “I lost my job” to “I’m in transition.” It also gives us opportunities to participate in activities that can add value to our future job search and career options such as volunteering, short course certifications and creative projects that can help us develop new skills," she added.
