The Deep House music community is still saddened by what happened over the past weekend, as they lost one of their own, DJ Poizen, to a fatal car crash, which also resulted in DJ Chymamusique being in the ICU.

On Thursday, 4 September 2025, the controversial online news and gossip page MDNews recently shared DJ Chymamusique's health update on social media, just days after DJ Poizen's family broke their silence regarding their son's death.

In the post shared by the news page, it was stated that the 35-year-old music composer, whose real name is Collen Mmotla, is still fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and authorities say investigations into the exact cause of the crash are still ongoing.

"DJ Chymamusique is still in the ICU following a fatal crash. Acclaimed house music producer DJ Chymamusique remains in the intensive care unit as he continues to fight for his life after last weekend’s tragic car accident on the N1 near Ysterberg Mountain. The crash, which claimed the life of his collaborator and fellow artist DJ Poizen, also left several fatalities and others injured and brought renewed calls for road safety in Limpopo," the post reads.

In more entertainment news, Briefly News reported that Lamiez Holworthy recalled her last moments with DJ Poizen before he passed away.

Holworthy took to her social media account to share that she was shocked to learn about Poizen's death, as they were together the previous day on Friday, 29 August 2025. South Africans took to the media personality's social media post to comfort her and pray for Chymamusique's speedy recovery.
