South African rapper Cassper Nyovest finally broke his silence regarding the criticism he received over his internship program.

Ahead of his anticipated Fill Up Toyota Stadium concert, Mufasa is offering another round of internship opportunities, this time to 50 young South Africans looking to gain working experience and knowledge.

However, the program was criticised after a disclaimer revealed that candidates would not be paid, yet still expected to show up to work every day.

Having offered similar opportunities during his previous concerts, this came as a shock to many, who accused Cassper of exploiting his interns.

In an effort to diffuse the situation, the rapper's long-time manager, Lerato "TLee" Moiloa, addressed claims that they were using people to their advantage:

"Since we've started, not a single intern has come to be part of the program and wasn't getting paid. We are going to sort people out with a stipend. The reason it's not put in the program is so we can attract people who are passionate about the industry and who want to learn. The wording was misconstrued."

In a video posted a day before the program started on 10 September 2025, TLee went on to highlight the purpose of the initiative:

"We started in 2016, if not 2017, and we've worked with about 600 interns minimum. I'm excited to give people who have the desire to get into the business an opportunity to see what it takes to put up something like this."
