Ratile Mabitsela and her three kids are healing and reconnecting months after losing their father.

Lehlogonolo Mabitsela tragically passed away on 12 February 2025, and after months of reflection and an unexpected battle with her former in-laws, Ratile is finally finding peace.

Taking to her Instagram page on Saturday, 13 September, the Mommy Club star posted footage from her fun-filled family outing with her three children, affectionately known as the Mabitsela Trio.

The family participated in the Nqoba Challenge, a school function where families compete in different challenges in a massive obstacle course, held at the HeronBridge College in Fourways.

Ratile took pictures and videos of her kids taking part in several competitions, some of which were long-distance races, where she and her daughter ran the 3 km race while the boys did the 5 km.

"Thori was keen on 5 km, but we are the girls in this family, the 3 km type of girls. We’d rather lift 5 kg weights than run for 5 km. The boys held the family down here! Went on with the 5 km and just broke a lil sweat, nothing serious. I’m so proud of us!"

She took a moment to reflect on their last contest together, sharing a picture from 2024 with her late husband at the competition. Ratile said she was proud of how her family was adjusting despite his absence:

"This is what healing looks like, re-creating new traditions and making new memories as just the 4 of us."
