How the public shaming affected DJ Zinhle

Zinhle did not shy away from acknowledging how cruel the commentary got. She said people openly mocked her, suggesting that despite her wealth, business empire, and good looks, she still "couldn't keep a man" from straying. Rather than retreating, she pushed back with a broader perspective on human experience.

"I didn't invent heartbreak, I didn't invent death, I didn't invent embarrassment. The same thing you could be commenting on can happen to you tomorrow. We're all humans."

While she neither confirmed nor denied the allegations, Zinhle reflected on the unique vulnerability that comes with being a public figure, noting that private pain always becomes public spectacle when you live in the spotlight.

"I understand my responsibilities and my position in society, therefore I understand that the things that happen to people privately will happen to me publicly."

Zinhle made it clear that while the comments about her marriage did hurt, she has chosen to reframe the experience. She told L-Tido that living publicly means she has no secrets to protect, which she described as a form of freedom. More strikingly, she said the public humiliation felt like a down payment on something greater.
