Grammy-winning South African singer Tyla has done what no African artist has ever done before, landing a second number one album on the Billboard World Albums chart. Her 2026 sophomore project, A*Pop, debuted straight at the top of the chart, repeating the feat achieved by her self-titled debut in 2024.
The milestone was highlighted by industry tracking account ChartsAfrica, which confirmed Tyla as the first African artist in history to secure two chart-topping entries on the Billboard World Albums ranking.

Her debut album, TYLA, introduced the global smash hit ‘Water’ to the world and peaked at number one on the World Albums chart while also cracking the Top 25 of the main Billboard 200.
