Durban rapper Akalicious is facing serious allegations after a social media user claimed he robbed them and threatened to stab them in broad daylight in the Durban Central Business District.
The claims were made by a Facebook user going by the name Accredited Sam, who alleged the incident took place near the Workshop shopping centre on a Wednesday afternoon, 12 August 2026, at around 5 pm. According to their account, they had just finished work when the Umlazi-born musician allegedly approached them and demanded money.

Accredited Sam said they initially told the rapper they had no money on them, which allegedly angered him. He reportedly accused them of disrespecting him and followed them as they tried to cross the road, eventually reaching into their pockets and taking loose change they had set aside for taxi fare.

The situation reportedly became more dangerous when Akalicious allegedly told Accredited Sam the amount was not enough and ordered them to accompany him to a nearby bank to withdraw more cash. When they resisted, he allegedly threatened to stab them and take their phone.
Accredited Sam said they pretended to go along with his demands while quietly looking for a way out. They spotted a police vehicle on the other side of the road, broke away, and ran towards the officers. Akalicious allegedly shouted at them before fleeing the scene. Police then escorted Accredited Sam to their transport.
Beyond the fear, Accredited Sam said the alleged encounter stung on a personal level.
"What hurts the most is that I grew up listening to his Kasi Rap music, yet today, I was robbed by him," they wrote in the post.
They added that they were relieved their phone was not taken and that no one gained access to funds linked to their bank card.
The allegations have unsettled members of the local community, with some expressing disbelief that a known local artist could be involved in such an incident.
