Minnie Dlamini Steps Into the Spotlight As Award-Winning TV Producer

Minnie Dlamini is stepping out of the spotlight and into a new kind of recognition. The veteran presenter and actress picked up the Entertainment TV Producer of the Year award at the 2026 Basadi in Music Awards, cementing her status as a serious force behind the camera.

Speaking to Jerry Deeuw Media on 7 August 2026 at the Vanguard Awards, which served as the opening night of the Basadi in Music Awards, Minnie described the nomination alone as a milestone she did not take lightly.

"It's such a full-circle moment for me; I'm so excited to be nominated as Best TV Producer."

The recognition came on the back of Club Bangers, a music show for Channel O that Minnie executive produced. The show premiered in April 2025 and earned her the nomination that would go on to become a win.

Club Bangers is one of several projects that have come out of her production company, Beautiful Day Productions. The company's slate includes Becoming Mrs Jones, Amarok Spirit of Mzansi and Goodbye Gogo, among others, painting the picture of a presenter who has been quietly building a production portfolio on the side.

16 years in the making

What makes the win particularly meaningful to Minnie is the realisation that much of her behind-the-scenes work has gone unnoticed by the public. With 16 years in the entertainment industry, she feels the time has come for a fuller picture of her abilities to emerge.

"I've been in the game for 16 years; people know me in front of the camera, but don't know that my talents expand beyond that. I'm part of unearthing new talent; I'm part of creating shows that become the heartbeat of our nation; that's something that I'm really proud of."

Her excitement at finally being seen in this capacity was clear. "I'm excited to showcase what I'm able to do instead of being in front of the camera."
