Media veteran Somizi Mhlongo has surprised fans by announcing that he is launching his very own podcast. The entertainer, who once swore he would never go down this road, made the revelation on his social media pages on 13 August 2026.

"They say, 'Never say never,' of course, I got to learn the hard way, or the most beautiful way," he wrote. "I also said I would never have a podcast. Yes, podcast is loading. Life Lessons with Somizi."

Somizi added that he is "so invested" in the project, and even asked his followers to subscribe to his YouTube channel, something he described as words he never imagined he would say.

The podcast is set to officially launch in September. It joins a growing list of ventures Somizi is currently juggling, including his fashion label Sompire, which has been making waves after several celebrities wore his designs at the Durban July, among them Zola Mhlongo, DJ Tira, and Anele Zondo.

He also co-hosts the popular weekday Metro FM show Break Away alongside Khutso Theledi and Naked DJ, and is preparing to host his annual Shades of Pink festival on 29 August.
