Mzansi's beloved comedian Tumi Morake has been revealed as the Koeksister on The Masked Singer South Africa Season 3, and her unmasking has set social media alight with fans both shocked and delighted by the big reveal.
The moment unfolded on episode 6 of the SABC 2 show, which airs on Saturdays at 19:00, during a lively on-stage unmasking segment. Detectives Somizi and Sithelo correctly pieced together the clues and identified Morake, much to her amusement. Skhumba, however, was left completely in the dark — a fact that stung a little harder given that Morake is a fellow comedian. Guest detective Zwai Bala, standing in for the absent J'Something, also missed the mark entirely.

Speaking to host Mpho Popps after her unmasking, Morake was in great spirits and hilariously called out Somizi's almost supernatural ability to identify contestants. "I knew Somizi knew who I was. I was like this guy. Guys, Somizi, he can taste you in the air. Like you just pass a molecule there and he's like, that's who it is," she said with her signature comic flair.

Despite her confidence on stage, Morake admitted that one contestant nearly broke her spirit. "I heard Chokha sing and I was like, let's just pack my clothes and put them away," she laughed, clearly impressed by her competition.

While comedy is her natural home, Morake was candid about how nerve-wracking stepping into a singer's shoes turned out to be. "Singing was the most daunting part," she told Mpho Popps. "But the audience is like, ' Hey, hey… you feel like a superstar!" Her warmth and honesty in the moment only endeared her further to viewers watching at home.
