A viral podcast clip is setting Mzansi's timelines alight after Sfiso Ndlovu made sweeping allegations about anti-illegal immigration march leaders Ngizwe Mchunu and Nkosikhona "Phakelumthakathi" Ndabandaba allegedly receiving millions ahead of the national shutdown. The clip, which premiered on the Music Pulse Podcast on Tuesday, 19 August 2026, has split opinion sharply between those treating it as credible intelligence and those dismissing it as drunken rambling.

What Sfiso said about Ngizwe Mchunu and Phakelumthakathi

According to Sfiso, the reason Ngizwe and Phakela no longer see eye to eye is money. He alleged that when the two men met President Cyril Ramaphosa before the 30 June 2026 national shutdown, which saw demonstrators across South Africa calling for undocumented foreigners to be repatriated, a payment of "four-something million" rand was made. He further claimed that one of the men walked away with R500,000 more than the other, allegedly sparking the rift between them.

Sfiso said he heard these details from a "very rich" politician who was supposedly in the room during the meeting. He also alleged that both men signed NDAs as part of the arrangement. When pushed on the details, Sfiso repeatedly qualified his statements with the word "allegedly," which became a talking point in its own right among viewers.

On activist Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma, who led the March and March movement, Sfiso took a noticeably different tone. Music Pulse co-host Nota Baloyi, known for his controversial takes, supported him and said Jacinta was never paid because she was "incorruptible," adding that President Ramaphosa deliberately excluded her from the meeting because he feared her resolve.
