Reality TV star Peet Viljoen walked through the corridors of the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Friday, 4 September 2026, and a camera crew captured every step. The footage, shared on X by @Sli_Masikane and linked to an eNCA court report, shows a suited Viljoen moving briskly through an indoor corridor lined with red chairs and then through a wood-panelled passage past a "No Entry" sign, in what has the feel of a documentary news segment.
The footage blew up online because of what had just unfolded in court.
Peet Viljoen's bid dismissed
Viljoen faces close to 400 charges connected to the alleged fraudulent sale of municipal properties, with the alleged offences stretching as far back as 2010. The charges include fraud, corruption, uttering, and forgery.

Friday's proceedings were initially expected to focus on the state disclosing the contents of its docket, which prosecutors confirmed had already been done. His defence team then raised the fact that co-accused individuals had not yet appeared alongside him. Prosecutors explained that at least one suspect is still being sought and that another has since died. At least four further suspects are expected to join Viljoen in the dock at his next court date, facing similar charges.
His lawyer pushed harder, launching a formal application to have the entire case struck off the roll. The state prosecutor rejected that move outright, describing it as premature and insisting the state has a strong case and intends to prosecute all implicated parties.

The magistrate dismissed the application to strike the matter from the roll. The court also heard that Viljoen intends to appeal his bail denial in the High Court. The case has been postponed to 30 October 2026, when further developments are expected.
