A grainy, dimly lit clip of DJ Tira stumbling out of a groove venue after what appears to have been a heavy night has once again found its way back onto South African social media timelines, and Mzansi cannot stop laughing.

The handheld footage, filmed by a fan outside what looks like an indoor venue, shows the Afrohouse heavyweight seemingly disoriented after his set, repeatedly shouting, "I'm hungry dog! I'm hungry dog!" A "DJ TIRA" caption overlaid at the bottom, paired with laughing emojis, gives the clip its now-iconic meme-like quality. The video is not new, but it refuses to stay buried.

DJ Tira's Clip That Won't Go Away

Over the years, the footage has become something of a recurring joke in South African entertainment circles. At various points, fans have teased Tira, whose real name is Mthokozisi Khathi, suggesting he may have been enjoying a little too much of his own Bearings Cider supply. The Durban-born DJ and record label boss is a co-owner of the popular cider brand, which made the joke land even harder each time the video resurfaced.
