Legendary singer Lionel Richie is currently in the intensive care unit at a St. Louis hospital following his Saturday night concert, TMZ has reported. Sources with direct knowledge told the outlet that Richie checked himself in after the show to undergo tests, with doctors exploring possible slight dehydration as a cause of his discomfort. He is reportedly hoping to be discharged on Tuesday.

Richie performed at The Muny in Forest Park over the weekend, and those who attended noticed something was off near the end of the set. Witnesses told the US blog page that the 76-year-old appeared to be struggling during his closing number, "All Night Long," at which point he asked his team to bring him a chair so he could sit down to finish the song.

A Worrying Pattern for the Music Icon

Saturday's incident is the second time in under three months that Richie has needed medical attention following a live performance. Back in June, he was rushed to hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, after telling concertgoers he felt "dizzy" and "strange." He cut that show short before paramedics met him backstage and transported him to the hospital by ambulance.
