New details have emerged about why the South African Police Service has issued an active arrest warrant for reality TV personality Queen Nandi, whose full name is Nandipha Mlombi. Journalist Pule Leshwiti-Jones shared a breakdown of the case, revealing how a rental dispute in Johannesburg snowballed into a harassment investigation with a contempt of court element attached.
Why SAPS issued arrest warrant Queen Nandi
According to Leshwiti-Jones, the situation began while Nandi was renting a property in Lone Hill, Johannesburg, and allegedly fell behind on her obligations to the landlord. The property owner subsequently obtained an eviction order, and when Nandi reportedly did not comply, her belongings were removed from the premises.
Rather than walking away, Nandi filmed what happened and posted the footage on social media. The problem, authorities allege, is that the content exposed not only the property itself but also the identity of the complainant.

"The complainant, being the property owner, then subsequently obtained an eviction order, which would see Nandi being evicted from that property. However, what then happened is that after not complying with this order, Nandi's assets were chucked onto the streets, and she then subsequently took a video of this particular incident, exposing not only the property but also, we understand, the identity of this complainant," Leshwiti-Jones said.
Queen Nandi responds to arrest warrant
The property owner then returned to court and obtained a second order, this time compelling Nandi to take the posts down. Leshwiti-Jones said she allegedly ignored that order too, leaving the content online and the complainant's identity continuously exposed.
"The complainant then went again to court to get an order compelling Nandi to remove that content or the post from her social media platforms. Regardless of this, Nandi failed to do so. Now the allegation here is that the complainant was really upset, and therefore this triggered the police to intensify the investigation. So, it means Nandi is in contempt of this order, but there's also a charge of harassment by the complainant as a result of the post not having been removed and staying on social media, exposing her identity," Leshwiti-Jones said.
SAPS has reportedly been trying to reach Nandi for some time, but with little success. Leshwiti-Jones noted that when police attempted contact, she allegedly told them to e-mail her, giving officers very little to work with regarding her whereabouts. Sources reportedly indicated she has since left Gauteng, complicating efforts further.

Arrest warrant issued for Jub Jub
Queen Nandi isn't the only reality TV star who has had a brush with the law.
Earlier, Briefly News reported that the Germiston Magistrates Court issued a warrant of arrest for Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye after he failed to appear.
Jub Jub's lawyer told the court the TV personality had been booked off sick since the warrant was issued.
