The confirmation, shared publicly on X by user @_Tee__G, came in the form of an automated reference notice under case number AFK41089, prompting a fresh wave of reactions across social media.
The group behind the request, identifying themselves as "Concerned South African Citizens," escalated their campaign to AfriForum after previous correspondence with the Democratic Alliance and various government departments reportedly produced no satisfactory answers. Their letter to the civil rights organisation calls for transparency, accountability, and the consistent enforcement of South Africa's immigration and citizenship laws by the Department of Home Affairs.
