First there was SOIL, then came MUD and it ended with DUST.
Priddy Ugly's album trilogy was released from 2021 to 2024 and the final instalment was supposed to mark the end of his music career. But the musician is nowhere near ready to drop the mic just yet.
He surprised fans with his announcement on social media of a special edition album entitled DUST DLX.
The record is to celebrate the success of the trilogy and thank his fans for their loyalty over the years. Priddy said:

"This special edition is a THANK YOU to everyone who’s been here since the first note, the first lyric, the first step and those who’ve joined us on the way.
"Let’s continue this journey together."
Many fans expressed excitement over the upcoming album, which is set for release on 26 September 2025, but others were unimpressed by the timing.
South Africans have mixed reactions online
Thami Loxworth tweeted:
"Cannot wait for this drop 👌🔥 You carried SA rap 2024 with this project."
Tee Touch ZA was less enthusiastic:
"You took too long. I love your music, but this was supposed to be released earlier."
K Papino commented:
"You are a very important player in the South African hip-hop/ rap scene. God bless you abundantly, King. Please continue spitting that hot fire."
Zakhele Zack had some choice words:
"A deluxe album you release at least two to five months max after the initial album. Not two years later. You lack work ethic and creativity. You should have just released a whole new album with all new songs. Fire your entire team."

Priddy Ugly is passionate about making music
The In the Mood hitmaker's previous album, DUST, was a milestone record for the rapper. It surpassed 11 million streams on Apple and Spotify.
Priddy thanked his fans in a post on X and added there would be more music in the pipeline.
The rapper revealed in an interview with Drum Magazine that it was differences with his management that drove his decision to walk away from music. But he's since had a revelation to return to his passion.
Speaking with Briefly News earlier this year, the 33-year-old said that his priority is to put out quality music.
"I’ve never been someone who focuses on metrics and does things for accolades. I’ve just always wanted to put out quality work and the fact that people are resonating and streaming the music is humbling. I appreciate every single person who listens to my music," he said.

He also scooped two Urban Music Awards in May this year for Best Hip Hop Act and Artist of the Year.

The couple are also parents to Afrika, whom they welcomed shortly after tying the knot in 2019.
