Talented actress Khabonina Qubeka recently praised her co-star Mpilo Mbatha, who plays the character of Mzilikazi on the Mzansi Magic series Shaka ILembe.

The actor Mpilo Mbatha, who stars opposite Zamani Mbatha, impressed fans of the award-winning TV show last Sunday, 10 August 2025.

Zamani exited the show as Nomhlanjana after actor Thembinkosi Mthembu, who played the role of King Dingiswayo.

The former Generations: The Legacy actress, Khabonina Qubeka, applauded the rising star on her X account on Sunday, 10 August 2025.

"We all collectively lost our minds when we saw this man performing. Sonke (all of us) cast, crew, production. We bow, such an honour," wrote the actress.

Qubeka replied to social media user @keloduma's X post about the Shaka ILembe actor, who plays the character of Mzilikazi.

"We have another generational actor here!," reads the post.

Mpilo Mbatha: TV roles

The rising star Mpilo Mbatha, who is famously known for playing Michael on SABC3's cancelled TV show, The Estate ,recently landed a doctor role on Mzansi Wethu's latest telenovela Home Coming.

He stars opposite his Shaka ILembe co-star Thembinkosi Mthembu on Home Coming.

The actor also played the character of Melusi on 1Magic's award-winning TV show, The River, and portrayed the role of Khaya Bhoza on Showmax's popular TV show, Empini.

SA stars chuckle at the G-strings made during Shaka iLembe

In more entertainment news, Briefly News previously reported that Mzansi Magic shared how many G-strings were made for the actors of the Shaka iLembe TV show.
