A Pretoria content creator has left South Africans in stitches after sharing a skeleton prank that had drive-thru workers running for their lives.
Facebook user @gift.modise.3572 posted the viral video in July with the simple caption:
"Skeleton driving through 😄"
The clip quickly caught fire online. The clever prank shows what appears to be a skeleton sitting in the driver's seat of a car as it approaches a fast-food restaurant's drive-thru window. The person behind the prank was clearly controlling the skeleton from somewhere hidden in the vehicle.

When the drive-thru worker first notices the skeleton in the driver's seat, she immediately closes the window and calls for help. A male colleague comes over to investigate what has scared his workmate so much. But just as he slides the window open and peeps through to get a better look, the prankster moves the skeleton's head to face him directly.
The moment the skeleton turns its head towards the window, the workers panic and run away from their posts. Their genuine fear and shock made the prank even funnier for viewers who could see how realistic the setup looked from the workers' perspective.
The video quickly went viral across social media platforms, racking up impressive numbers with over 77,200 reactions, more than 1,100 comments, and over 2,200 shares. People couldn't get enough of the workers' hilarious reactions to the unexpected fright.

The personalities of pranksters
According to an expert at Delicately Balanced Therapy, people who enjoy pranking often have brains that release more feel-good chemicals like dopamine when they create humour. The expert explains that pranksters might have stronger activity in the part of the brain that controls decision-making and social behaviour, helping them think quickly and come up with creative jokes.
