The news of the Carters’ move out of America created a lot of noise on the internet. Their decision to leave the country is alleged not to be because of President Donald Trump and his policies, but the unbearable wildfires in California.

The family is rumoured to have been eyeing a new home in the UK, where Ellen DeGeneres and her family moved. Americans online did not settle for the angle that the couple was only moving because of wildfires and discussed their 'obvious' exit plan online.
A woman on TikTok, Brittney M. Caldwell, warned people online that America was crumbling. She highlighted that wealthy people and big businesses like Marvel Studios are reportedly leaving Georgia to settle in the UK:
“The fire that they are talking about is wild, but not actual fire, his country is burning. The wealthy are fleeing; we should, too. I don’t know if protests and stuff are going to work anymore.”
