South African Lady Pained After Being Stranded in Turkey

A young South African woman from Cape Town and a Master's student at the University of the Western Cape, Samantha Mampofu, shares her story of being stranded in Istanbul, Turkey.

She had travelled straight from the Mother City and had a layover flight before she could leave for Finland, where she received a scholarship to further her studies. The young lady was denied access to her flight because of her passport.
Mampofu explained that she made the mistake of not checking the dates on her permit before she booked her flight to Finland, and because her documents did not correspond, she was stuck in Turkey.

The young woman panicked as she watched her flight leave her. She could not stop crying as reality sank in and she realised that she would have to spend a couple of days in Istanbul to sort out her documents:

“I don’t remember the last time I cried like this.”
Mampofu tried to turn her misfortune into an opportunity to explore Turkey. She booked herself into a hotel and vlogged her experience.
The youngster rated fast food from the country and created more content, which she posted on her TikTok account. The lady appeared much calmer than she was at the airport.
She’s looking forward to getting to Finland before she’s expected on campus and continues to have a ball in Turkey.
