The latest big winner of the Lotto Plus 1 draw secured a life-changing amount of cash. South Africans shared their thoughts on the latest winner.

South Africa's lottery announced that someone won R11,276,926 in the Lotto Plus 1 draw. The player matched six numbers to win the large cash prize. On 3 September, the winning numbers were 20, 31, 36, 46, 49, 50 and bonus ball, 51. The second biggest winner of the Lotto Plus 1 draw bagged R144,356. The Lotto Plus 2 draw indicated that someone won R134,491 for matching five numbers: 03, 13, 21, 31, 48, 51 and bonus ball, 09.

South Africa congratulates winner

People commenting on the latest lotto win were convinced that lotto winners had become more frequent lately. Reports of corruption in the National Lottery Commission fuel peeps' doubts about the lotto winnings. Celebrities Terry Pheto and the late Presley Chweneyagae were part of the corruption allegations in the NLC. The actors were reportedly part of a fraud involving funds in the NLC.

Netizens commented in disbelief that a lotto winner received millions of rands weeks after another on 25 August 2025. Briefly News reported on the winner who eventually stepped forward to claim R40 million. Despite reports of lotto winners sharing their stories, people still expressed doubt about the winner of R11 million.
