A popular Johannesburg influencer has sparked conversation after sharing how she spends her hard-earned money during a day of treating herself. Lerato Nxumalo's shopping and spa day video has gone viral, attracting attention from South Africans curious about her lifestyle.

Content creator @lratonxumalo, who boasts over 2.1 million followers and 71.8 million likes on TikTok, shared the video on 30 August 2025, declaring her intention to go shopping, stating:

"I am going shopping. I need to spend my money. I work hard for my money."

She then drove to a local Johannesburg mall where she visited several high-end stores. Her first stop was a Lacoste store where she tried on different sneakers and handbags before purchasing a bag for R10,490. She then moved to Zara, where she spent R1,350, followed by Home store, where she spent R590. At another store, she made purchases totalling R3,509.

After completing her shopping, she went to a restaurant for food and drinks before loading her purchases into her car. The day continued with a visit to the Four Seasons hotel, where she prepared for a spa treatment.

At the spa, Lerato showed her experience in a gown, showing the scenic views, fruit offerings, and tea service. She spent R2,700 on the spa treatment, taking time to relax and enjoy the luxurious surroundings before heading home to show off her purchases.

The influencer also received PR gifts from Philips, including an electric toothbrush, hair dryer, hair straightener, and various accessories. She expressed excitement about receiving free products, saying:
