With Heritage Day around the corner, a local fashion and lifestyle content creator generously plugged shoppers in Rosebank, Johannesburg, with a store selling what she considered budget-friendly traditional outfits.

Although Olipa Mwambi posted her video about Lufi D on 24 March, 2025, to her TikTok account, the post still holds relevance among fashion fanatics.

Showing garments ranging between R400 and R800, Olipa, who was looking for an outfit for a wedding, said:

"Here is an affordable store that sells and makes traditional attire for men and women. I was so happy that I didn’t need to stress about having something made because all the dresses they had were absolutely beautiful. The size chart ranges from 28 to 48."

Commenting on the service provided and how much she paid for her items, the young woman shared:

"The lady was super helpful and friendly, so this shopping experience was a '10/10' for me. I paid R800 for both of my dresses and got free head wraps."

South Africans appreciate the plug

While some shared an interest in the store and flooded the comment section with queries, others told social media users about their shopping experiences.

Already familiar with the store, @pound_noxx shared with the online community:

"I love Lufi D! I bought two dresses from them. The quality is amazing, and the prints are unique."

@useronemillion17, on the other hand, didn't have a pleasant experience:

"I ordered a dress there, and the cut was so huge. This was for a wedding, so I had to wear something else instead."

@thabs.sm was excited to see what Lufi D had to offer, stating:

"I literally said, 'Why are they using Lufi D designs?' before you mentioned it was them. This is the only shop I buy at."

An appreciative @dimpho.matlala, who admired the dresses the content creator tried on, said under the post:

"Thank you for the plug. You look stunning in all of them."

@vanessadolly1 noted that they were from the area and told people on the internet:

"Love it! I got something for my husband. They are affordable. They even adjusted the dress for me.'

@lmmasnn disappointingly added in the comment section:

"Men's traditional fashion options, especially for South African traditional attire, are almost non-existent. All we get are oversized shirts and sandals. So vele I must now become a fashion designer?"
