His entertaining video, shared on TikTok by @bouwerbosch, sparked a lively discussion among social media users, who have weighed in on both sides of the argument.
The video starts with the man, Bouwer Bosch, standing in an open field with trees nearby, showcasing a bit of Sandton’s high-rise buildings towering above the trees. He proudly states that Joburg has the biggest urban man-made forest in the world, with a staggering 10 million trees.

He then challenges viewers to count the trees from the Cape Town Convention Centre to Table Mountain, suggesting they would find very few. He also notes the lack of trees in the Waterfront and criticises Cape Town's city centre for its lack of parking. He humorously adds that the DA municipality is quick to hit people with taxes, all because of the ocean and Table Mountain, which he jokes they didn't even build.

He brags that in Joburg, no one is charging him for the 10 million trees that surround him. The funny man adds that he wasn't going to tell people who are being ripped off by the Western Cape government what to do with their lives. He then concludes, saying he would just be in Joburg, enjoying free oxygen provided by the 10 million trees he isn't paying any taxes for.

"Why does there always have to be a competition to be better? Both cities are beautiful for their own reasons. This post reflects how much tranquillity those trees are bringing you."
User @Roy said:
"Right, you win with all the trees. Let's count the tall gates and potholes 🤣."
User @edster3 joked:
"But, do u have drinking water?"
User @Daisy shared:
"Cape Town will always win. She's a beauty with a lot of sophisticated people. Just the way I like it 🥰."
User @John Black added:
"They tax you because of Europe that's taking over😡."
User @Mohamed Noor asked:
"Cape Town rent is three times more than Joburg. The traffic is horrendous. You can't walk around at night. Many areas are dangerous, just like Jozi. Many Capetonians don't see the ocean daily. But it is still in Jozi, especially for entrepreneurs. So what's the point of moving to CT?"
