A man shared that a massive snake, a python, according to the homeowner, casually slithered into his house while he was working at his desk on his computer. The sheer size of the reptile shocked not only the man but also social media users, some of whom felt that evacuation was the only solution.

On 14 November, 2025, a Facebook user named Arnold van Wyk reshared Simeon Combrink's videos of the metres-long slithering intruder. The python made its way from the bedroom, having entered through an open door from a garden, to the lounge. While Simeon recounted what had happened, a woman outside the lounge window recorded the snake's presence from behind the glass.

Massive snake stuns locals

Hundreds of frightened South African social media users expressed how the humongous reptile gave them the heebie-jeebies and shared what they would have done if they had found the snake in their homes. Only a handful of people positively responded to the snake sighting.

Rian Prinsloo jokingly told the online crowd:

"No, no, if that were me, it would be the snake's house. I am moving out."

Tanja Kleinhans remarked with a laugh:

"I wish there were videos of the moment you saw him. The poor headphones are just hanging there."

Gerhard Esterhuizen shared with the online community:

"This is the reality in Africa. There was once a 4m black mamba in the field dining room, and chaos ensued. Another time, a Mozambique spitting cobra entered my office while I was working. My office is on a farm."

Marthie Smit Bornman informed internet users:

"I also struggle with snakes in my house from time to time, but not such big ones like this."

Johannes Vd Heever added in the comment section:

"People who kill snakes like this out of fear have no soul. We already don't have a lot of animals left in the wild, then aunties want to come and moan and kill him."

Charlotte Olivier jokingly stated under the post:

"Mister just came looking for friendship. Be glad it wasn't in bed."
