Man allegedly tries to bribe an officer

They claimed that the officer from Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) refused a R10,000 bribe from a suspect allegedly caught with cannabis. The substance was allegedly worth around R800,000. They added that instead of taking the bribe, the officer stood his ground and refused to break the law. It is further claimed that the suspect was arrested and that investigations were ongoing.

SA debate about the alleged bribe

The clip gained massive views and comments from viewers who debated the officer's actions. Many viewers felt that the man was doing what his job required him to do; therefore, he needed no praise. Some joked that maybe the bribe amount was too little and that he probably felt disrespected by the man, considering he was allegedly carrying R800,000. Others said the officer's colleagues were probably laughing at him. They pointed out that the man would soon be out of jail and roaming on the streets, displaying little trust in the country's law.
