Samantha, a snake catcher, shared a video on 19 August 2026 that stopped her followers cold. It showed one of the largest black mambas she has ever encountered, and the story behind the catch was just as gripping as the snake itself.

Samantha's mentor, Neville Wolmarans, had gone up into the ceiling of a house to search for the snake. Before heading in, he told Samantha to stand outside and watch a specific hole in the roof. He was certain the mamba would come out of that exact spot.
Standing in the blazing sun, staring at a large roof with no shortage of gaps and openings, Samantha was sceptical. She was quietly convinced they would search, find nothing, and head home empty-handed. Then a head appeared.
What followed left Samantha at a loss for words. The mamba that emerged was not the longest she had dealt with, but she described it as the fattest, most girth-heavy mamba she had ever handled. It was an extraordinary catch, and it was made possible entirely because of Wolmarans' read of the situation.
