A 9-year-old boy landed in hospital after consuming THC-infused gummies totalling 2,000mg. The incident, captured on video in a hospital room, has gone viral after anaesthesiologist Dr Myro Figura, MD, reacted to the footage on TikTok on 7 September 2026.

In the original clip, the child, identified only as Junior, is seen struggling to remain aware of his surroundings. On-screen text describes how he lost both his sight and hearing as a result of the ingestion.

Doctor calls it "frank psychosis"

Dr Figura, who films himself in a small inset box over the original footage, did not hold back in his assessment. He described the child as being in "another dimension," explaining that 2,000mg is roughly 200 times the standard recreational dose of 5 to 10mg. "Junior doesn't know the ceiling from the floor," he said, calling the episode "frank psychosis."

He stressed that while the condition is not fatal, it is medically serious. Symptoms can persist for 24 hours or longer, and Junior was expected to remain under hospital observation for at least several days. Dr Figura ended his video with a pointed remark: investigators would be asking hard questions about how a 9-year-old accessed such a high dose in the first place.

One detail surfacing in the comments section suggested the situation may be even more disturbing. A viewer going by the handle @𖤓 𝔰𝔞𝔤𝔢 𖤓 wrote that Junior did not take the gummies himself but was allegedly given them by older teenagers at school who told him they were regular candy.

"This is infuriating. At 9 years old, even 5 mg will change your brain chemistry for life. This kid will never be the same. Why would you even have 2,000 mg worth of gummies in the same building as a child?"
