A group of KwaZulu-Natal Road Traffic Inspectorate officers turned a drunk-driving arrest into an unexpected birthday moment. The incident took place in Newcastle, and a video capturing what happened was shared on 3 October.

After pulling over a motorist on suspicion of drunk driving, they received complaints that it was her birthday. Their response to the complaint was anything but by the book.

The RTI officers gathered together and broke into a rendition of "Happy Birthday." The scene shared by @thewitness_kzn showed the uniformed officers singing in full voice while the woman sat detained. On-screen text added context for viewers, explaining why the officers had ended up singing to someone they had just arrested. Watch the officers serenade their detainee below:
