After they finished their cheerful rendition, the wife asked her husband to say a few words to the birthday person. The loving husband delivered a heartfelt speech, saying:

"Happy birthday. Have more years, more blessings and prosperity. May your wishes be very blessed. Happy birthday, we love you."

She then asked him to blow a kiss when he looked at her, confused, completely unaware of what was coming next.

The comedy peaked when the husband asked who exactly they were sending this sweet video to, and his wife calmly revealed it was for her ex-boyfriend. His face immediately changed as confusion set in, and viewers could see him trying to process what had just happened while his wife struggled to hide her laughter.

The health benefits of good pranks and jokes

According to Cleveland Clinic, pranks and jokes provide real health benefits by releasing beneficial chemicals in our brains. When we laugh at pranks, our bodies release oxytocin (the bonding hormone that makes us feel closer to others), dopamine (which creates feelings of pleasure and satisfaction), and endorphins (natural pain relievers that boost mood and confidence). These pranks also help build important social skills like empathy, boundary setting, and teamwork while reducing stress levels and strengthening our immune systems.

A woman surprised her gogo with a birthday lunch and left her in tears of joy

Speaking to Briefly News writer Nerissa Naidoo, medical expert Jayshri Rangasamy discussed the negative impact of a poorly received prank. She stated:

"When a joke goes wrong, it can have several negative psychological effects depending on the context and the people involved. For the person who made the joke, it may lead to feelings of embarrassment, shame, or anxiety, especially if the joke is misunderstood or perceived as offensive. This can result in self-doubt, fear of future social interactions, or even social withdrawal. On the other hand, recipients of the joke may feel hurt, offended, or uncomfortable, particularly if the joke touches on sensitive topics like identity, trauma, or personal values.
"This can damage trust, create tension in relationships, and lead to a breakdown in communication. In professional settings, a failed joke can also impact team dynamics and workplace morale. Overall, humour is powerful, but when misused or mistimed, it can unintentionally harm emotional well-being and social cohesion."
