After President Donald Trump confirmed Charlie Kirk's death, the assassinated Republican's wife, Erika Kirk, shared fond memories of her husband. One such memory was an old video of the 31-year-old explaining to their daughter how he and Erika met.

Erika shared her post on her Instagram account on 16 September, 2025, where Charlie told their oldest child that it was at the restaurant they visited at that time that he first laid eyes on his wife, who was presumably behind the camera.

"It started as a job interview, and I asked all these questions about philosophy, religion, and Jesus. And then, I realised that Mama was beautiful, smart, elegant, and Christ-like, and so I said, 'Forget this job interview, I want to date you. I have enough friends,' and that's where your journey started."

Charlie, an ally of Trump, was known for often making racist and sexist comments, which aligned with the MAGA movement.

According to The Guardian, Charlie once said:

"If I see a Black pilot, I'm going to be like, 'Boy, I hope he's qualified.'"

Despite his divisiveness, many people still thought Charlie uttered words of truth.
