SOUTH AFRICA - The Economic Freedom Fighters have released a bold election advert taking direct aim at what the party describes as the ANC's record of corruption and broken promises.

Julius Malema posted the advert on his X account, and it wasted no time making its message clear.

EFF advert calls out failed delivery

The clip opens with a voiceover declaring,

"We were promised freedom while the current government enrich themselves,"

This, as the camera pans across a wall bearing a framed photograph of the late former President Nelson Mandela.

From there, the advert lays out a list of grievances. It points to corruption as the reason communities still lack access to clean water, functioning clinics, job opportunities for young people and properly maintained sewerage systems. The message is direct: South Africans deserve better, and the EFF believes it can deliver.

The advert closes with a rallying call urging voters to choose the EFF for reliable services, economic freedom and working municipalities. It signs off with the line,

"Victory or death, vote EFF."

South Africa reacts to the campaign clip

The advert quickly picked up traction online, drawing over 2,000 likes and hundreds of comments. Reactions were sharply divided between those energised by the message and those who took issue with both the tone and the messenger.

Phakelumthakathi laughs off Malema's election pledge

Previously, Briefly News reported on the EFF's election manifesto where party president Julius Malema promised to raise the pension grant to R4500. The video of his declaration was widely circulated on social media and drew a lot of criticism, icluding that of anti-illegal immigration activist Phakelumthakthi. Taking to his Facebook account, Phakelumthakathi said this was all electioneering, and that 'only fools' would believe Malema.
