Buckets, burgers, wings, you name it. And, as if the encounter couldn’t get any stranger, they didn’t stop ordering until their wagon was filled to the brim with KFC. Yes, you read that right. A wagon of KFC.

We sent our sources to investigate, and word on the street is that these mega-fans’ mega purchase of KFC could be for a team building session, while other eyewitnesses noticed some key details that deepened the mystery.

According to onlookers, these odd customers looked wind-battered, soaked to the bone and covered in beach sand.

Another tweep quipped that she’d seen these faces before, recognising the Marion Island branding on their uniforms.

Are these weary travellers really the researchers from Marion Island? Or is this another case picking up nuggets of speculation?

Only a trip back across the ocean can tell.
