Sizwe Dhlomo criticised Gayton McKenzie's comments about the coloured community's lived experience in South Africa.
The Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture is facing backlash over his decades-old racist rants and discriminatory comments about black South Africans.
While he has attempted to make amends with his supporters and the country at large, his latest statements about the coloured community's alleged oppression may have taken him several steps back.
During his appearance on The Konvo Show with Penuel Mlotshwa on 13 August 2025, the Sports Minister slammed the theory that coloured people don't want to be seen as black:

"A lot of my black friends ask, 'Why don't coloured people want to be black?' We wanna be African like you. The smartest black people don't know that coloureds are considered black in this country, and you (Panuel) are considered African. A coloured person can't become African in South Africa."

He went on to claim that the coloured community is unfairly treated and misses out on opportunities:
"The law says, 'Most opportunities should go to black people, particularly Africans.' That's why coloured people don't get hired, their CVs go nowhere, they don't get funding from NSFAS, only a small majority. It's Armageddon in our community."
Sizwe Dhlomo slammed the Minister's statement with a cheeky comment on X on 14 August:
"This guy is an idiot. Lol!"
This adds to the radio presenter's growing dislike for McKenzie, which, recently, led him to call for his removal from his position, and he is not the only one who shares these sentiments.
