PRETORIA, GAUTENG — North West businessman Brown Mogotsi testified at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry. He said that attempted-murder suspect Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala was the serial killer "John Wick" who committed his murders in Pretoria in 2018.
Mogotsi appeared on 18 November before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry at the Brigitte Mabandla Justice College in Tshwane. His statement was read out in the public sitting. X user Casper Mashamba posted a video of Mogotsi testifying on his @CasperMashamba1 X account. In the video, Mogotsi alleged that Matlala is John Wick, who committed a series of murders in 2018.

Mogotsi says Matlala is John Wick
Mogotsi alleged that Matlala is John Wick, a man who was accused of killing gang members in Mamelodi. John Wick targeted members of the Boko Haram gang, which had been terrorising the community.

The person behind the identity killed seven people between August and 10 October. One of the killings was recorded. The other killings took place in Soshanguve. According to News24, the South African Police Service initially suspected that a Boko Haram breakaway gang, Bafarasai, was responsible for the killings.
Cat Matlala implicated in Madlanga Commission
Numerous witnesses, including two police officers, testified that Matlala was involved in police corruption. These include KwZulu-Natal provincial commissioner General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola, and Crime Intelligence boss General Dumisani Khumalo. They have alleged that Matlala is involved in organised crime in the country.
