EASTERN CAPE - A dashcam video showing a woman being hijacked, kidnapped and robbed in Gqeberha has sent shockwaves across South Africa after crime journalist Yusuf Abramjee shared the footage on 30 August 2026.

The clip shows the woman seated in the back of a moving vehicle, sandwiched between two men, while a third is also present in the car. One of the suspects can be heard ordering her to open her banking app so she can transfer money to them. When she responds that she has no data, they immediately demand her phone password.
