“Worth It”: London Creator Amina Habeeb Flies 16 Hours Solo to Experience SA for the First Time

London-based lifestyle creator and digital marketer Amina Habeeb finally ticked South Africa off her bucket list. The influencer, known online as @thisisamina, flew solo from Heathrow to Johannesburg and then caught a connecting flight to Durban, covering over 16 hours of travel in a single stretch.

The trip came on the back of a holiday in Turkey. Barely a day after landing home, Amina was back at the airport, this time heading to KwaZulu-Natal. Club Med had invited her to experience their brand-new luxury beach and safari resort at Tinley Manor on the Dolphin Coast, roughly 45 minutes north of Durban.

She shared the journey in a selfie-style travel vlog, documenting everything from duty-free perfume spritzes at Heathrow's Terminal 5 to her first bowl of Wimpy chicken wings at OR Tambo International. One moment that caught her attention was the tipping culture. After a meal at Wimpy that came to 183 rand, she rounded up to 200 and noted:

"It's giving tipping country."

Once she arrived at the resort, Amina gave her followers a full room tour. The bracelet-style room key, the enormous bed, double-mirror bathroom and a private balcony with ocean views all made the cut. A notice on the balcony door warned guests to keep it shut to avoid monkeys wandering in, something Amina said she absolutely did not sign up for.

The Club Med South Africa Beach and Safari Resort sits on a large beachfront property and features around 400 rooms, multiple pools including an adults-only Zen pool, a spa, Club Med's first dedicated surf school, and all-inclusive dining across several restaurants and bars. Guests can also pair their coastal stay with a Big Five safari experience.

Amina posted the clip on 20 September 2026, captioning it:

"POV: the moment when two flights, a layover, and 16-plus hours of travelling all became worth it."

South Africans were thrilled to see the KwaZulu-Natal coastline getting international attention, and the comments on her TikTok page showed it:
