RUSA paramedics stabilised him at the scene before transporting him to a medical facility.

The survivor told investigators that he and his fellow taxi boss had been sitting with the food stall owner inside the stall, as they regularly did, when an unidentified grey vehicle drew up. The vehicle's occupants then opened fire on the three men without warning.

Two rifle cartridge casings and one projectile were recovered at the scene, pointing to the use of a high-calibre firearm in the attack. No arrests had been made at the time of reporting, and the motive for the shooting had not been established.
