Zimbabwean born footballer Khama Billiat seems to have a hefty price tagged attached to him. The 30-year-old reportedly costs Kaizer Chiefs close to R1 million per month and that's excluding payment for goals scored.
Billiat joined Chiefs back in July 2018, meaning he's received 31 paychecks from Amakhosi as of this month. His contract ends in June of this year and by that time, Billiat would have cost Chiefs a whopping R30 million.
Billiat is currently out of play due to a cracked leg bone is expected to make his way back to field in March.
The South African reported that on average, every goal scored by Billiat has cost Amakhosi over R1.7 million so far.
Times Live reported that Billiat‚ was a key player in Mamelodi Sundowns lifting the 2016 Caf Champions League trophy and had joined Chiefs in 2018. The report added that he scored three goals last season.
In other Chiefs news, Briefly.co.za previously reported on Daniel Cardoso wanting to keep up a "fighting spirit" in his team. Cardoso believes that Amakhosi's rough start to the season is behind them and better days have arrived. The 32-year-old is confident in Chiefs.
Chiefs came through for coach Gavin Hunt when they managed to secure a 1-0 defeat over AmaZulu earlier in the week. Cardoso spoke about wanting to see Chiefs' commitment and fighting spirit in their upcoming match.
According to GOAL, while speaking to Chiefs' media, Cardoso said that if Amakhosi could bring back the fighting spirit they had against Usuthu, they should walk away victorious after their game against Cape Town City.
Chiefs did manage to come through victorious after beating City 2-1 on 16 January. As of 26 January, Kaizer Chiefs are sitting at the seventh spot on the PSL log with Mamelodi Sundowns sitting comfortably at the number one spot.
