Al Ahly Coach Pitso Mosimane Speaks on Being Insulted by Zamalek Coaches

Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has lashed out at Zamalek technical team for insulting him, saying the two assistants used Portuguese to undermine him.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns boss explains because he knows how to communicate in the Portuguese language, he says he also hit back at the White Knights duo.
Mosimane was in charge of the Red Devils as they faced off against the Cairo giants this past weekend, a match Mosimane claimed via a 2-1 scoreline to maintain an unbeaten run in the league since his arrival back in September.

As the match was billed as one of the biggest in Egypt and resembled a true derby, there were heated moments in the clash. However, Mosimane says he respects Zamalek head coach Patrice Carteron:
"I fully appreciate Patrice Carteron and there was no verbal altercation between us during the game. However, his assistants insulted me in Portuguese and I understood them and I responded back. We have to become professionals and accept what happens on the pitch.”
Despite missing key players such as Ali Maaloul, Mohamed Hany, Hamdi Fathi while captain Mohamed El Shanawy was ruled out through Covid-19, the reigning CAF Champions League holders did well to bag a win. He added:
“We managed to win and control the course of the game, particularly in the first 20 minutes, after we imposed our method and implemented our plan very well.
"We outperformed a strong side who has a head coach at a high level of ability but my players had a strong desire to win. Ali Lotfi is the man of the match in my opinion. I strongly trust all of my players."
It remains to be seen if the Egyptian Premier League will take steps and investigate the allegations against the Zamalek bench. Meanwhile, Mosimane will now focus on facing Smouha in their upcoming Egyptian Premier League match on Wednesday night.
Briefly News reported that many fans have called for coach Pitso Mosimane's return and take over the national side.
The former national team coach Molefi Ntseki failed to guide the 1996 African champions to the 2021 CAF African Cup of Nations after recently losing 2-0 to Sudan.
In the wake of this disappointing result, Ntseki had also expressed heartbreak as he is fully aware the nation has been let down, but the football fraternity was already looking at having a more experienced manager.
