Manchester United are preparing for the Ruben Amorim era after Erik ten Hag's exit last week.

The Sporting CP boss will officially take charge on Monday, November 11, and coach his first game after the international break on the 24th.

Man United legend Paul Scholes named a few players he thinks will struggle at the club under the Portuguese coach.

The English giants have not won the Premier League for 10 years, and Amorim will be the sixth permanent manager since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013.

Man United players that will struggle under Amorim

Amorim will head to Man United after leading Sporting to an emphatic 4-1 win over English champions Manchester City.

The 39-year-old will likely play a 3-4-3 or a 3-4-2-1 formation, which is what he has done in Portugal since arriving in 2020. Scholes believes several of the team's attackers don't contribute defensively.

“There are three or four players, especially forward players, who don’t want to do the ugly side of the game," Scholes said via Football365.

He highlighted four players who could struggle to get game time under Amorim.

“Does he want wingers who are going to run back? If he wants that, I’m not sure Rashford and Garnacho are right for that."
